About the Governor's School GSA Conference
The Governor's School GSA Conference (GSGSAC) was created as a way for LGBTQ high school groups in the Richmond area to get together to learn, talk, and collaborate. While colleges have conferences for this purpose, they are generally for students above age 17, GSGSAC involves younger students and their school sponsors to generate new ideas.
We welcome all LGBTQ high school students, as well as their allies, teacher sponsors, and school administrators. Student members of Gay-Straight Alliances, Gender and Sexuality Alliances, Gender and Sexual Minority Alliances, SPECTRUM clubs, or any other LGBTQ high school student organization are welcome at the conference, as well as LGBTQ students in high schools that don't have an organization like this.
Our mission is to provide workshops, discussion groups, and informative speakers during a day-long conference held at Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School, giving LGBTQ high school students, allies, and their sponsors the opportunity to come together to collaborate, discuss relevant issues, and collectively solve problems.
